Random Encounter 10/5/2011

Hello my fellow nerds to another post of A Wild Gamer Appears! Please keep all arms, hands, and tentacles inside the vehicle at all times and to yourself. Tonight I bring you some sad news and some game news.

iRIP Steve Jobs

Apple reported earlier today that Steve Jobs, the genius behind Apple, had past away. Born in 1955 he has help create some of the most entertaining technology that a good number of people enjoy today. If you would like to send a message about the event the Apple site has an email dedicated to receiving messages. If you would like to shoot them an email send it to rememberingsteve@apple.com

Keiji Inafune to create new 3DS game

The man behind the popular Mega-Man series is hard at work creating a new game called King of Pirates. Not much is known about the game yet, but the word from Andriasang is that the game will be a multiplayer action RPG. The story seems to be that three races of creature people (or furries, whichever you prefer) are at war with each other to control the seas. From the games trailer it looks like there could be some good cut-scenes to follow along with this. There is no word on an American release but there already is an English website up for it so that should be a good sign. To check out the official site click this link.

EA sues fitness company over logo likeness

Seems like EA can't get enough of the legal drama (Surprised they haven't shown up for an episode of Law and Order). They are issuing a lawsuit against a Florida based company due to the fact that the logo is some what similar to their own. EA states that they've already tried to reach out to the negative ion folks and that they never received a response. Is EA going out of their way just to earn an extra buck, or do they have a legitimate case? It's up to the courts to decide now. To find out more info check out this Gamasutra article. (Also, props to Gamasutra for some what entertaining article name)
I didn't know Dr. Manhattan was into Negative Ion wrist bands

And that's all I have time for tonight folks, I'm hoping tomorrow I'll have my first impressions look at RAGE ready and available. Due to my work schedule it's hard to get things done the first few days of the week but I do have Thursdays and Fridays off to get more work done on here. Hopefully I'll have a logo up and running soon as well. Good night everyone and remember to stay out of the tall grass, you never know when the Wild Gamer will appear.
